  • Obituary: Marjorie Lillian DeLong, 85, Wolfville Nursing Home, formerly of Prospect Raod, Bayside, Halifax County, died August 29, 1997, in the home. Born in North Port, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Frank and Hilda (Hardy) Doleman. She was active in church affairs including missions and the Marjorie DeLong Ladies Group, New Ross. She founded the men's choirs in Waterville, New Ross, and Seabright. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her husband, Rev. Philip Maynard DeLong, Centreville; daughters, Rosalie (Mrs. Kevin Brady), Someret, New Jersey; Dianne (Mrs. Gerald Zinck), Centreville; son, Alan, Dartmouth; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother, Arthur; sisters, Rosalie Tate; Evangeline Smith. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in W.C. Hiltz Funeral Parlour, Kentville. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Snow's Funeral Home, Halifax. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday in Bayside United Baptist Church, Rev. Martin Zwicker and Rev. Jonathan Zinck officiating, assisted by Rev. Terry Tingley. Burial in East Dover Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sharing Way or Canadian Baptist Ministries.
