  • Obituary: CORKUM, Ralph Clyde - 84, Rockland, Kings Co., died June 4, 1996, at home. Born at North River, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Josiah and Ida (Joudrey) Corkum. He farmed in Rockland for many years and was also a heavy equipment operator with the Department of Highways for 30 years. He was a noted woodsman and deer hunter and was a licensed hunter's guide for 17 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Phyllis Silver; sons, Hartley, Berwick; Aubrey, Tom, George, Windermere; Gerald, South Berwick; daughters, Grace Murphy, Truro; Gertrude (Mrs. Lloyd Smith), Berwick West; Betty (Mrs. Edwin McIntyre), Myrtle (Mrs. Carl Allen), Upper Gagetown, N.B.; Marie (Mrs. Wendell Smith), Swan Creek, N.B.; Christina Corkum, Kentville; brother, Archie, British Columbia; sister, Lena Rawding, Brampton, Ont.; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, David; daughter, Gyneth; brothers, George, Perley, Josiah, Omar, Walter, Melborne; sisters, Alice, Ruth; grandchildren, John Paynter, Cheryl McIntyre. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thurdsay, funeral 2 p.m. Friday, both in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, 192 Commerical St., Berwick, Lic. Shawn Kehoe officiating. Private family burial in Berwick Cemetery. Reception to follow in the home of Lloyd and Gertrude Smith, 373 Orchard St., Berwick. No flowers by request. Donations to Kings County branch of the VON.
