Sherman E. Wilbur of Somers, who once owned and operated the Wilbur TV and Appliance shop, died Saturday at his home on Robert Street. He was 82.
Born in New Bedford, Mass., he had lived in Somers for almost 50 years. He had worked at Pratt & Whitney, specializing in tool and die work, until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Somers Congregational Church.
He leaves his wife, Virginia Raffetto Wilbur; a son, Stacey of Boulder Creek, Calif.; a stepson, Robert of New York; two daughters, Cheryl ``Chris'' Kent of Longmeadow, Mass., and Kim Davies of Conway, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Joan Chapin of Stafford; two brothers, Earl and John, both of Florida; and 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Somers Congregational Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, where services will be held at 11 a.m., with burial in Quabbin Park Cemetery in Ware, Mass.
