  • Obituary: Lann, Priscilla 2014-11-10 Mary Priscilla Lann, of Green Hill, passed away suddenly, November 10, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Three Brooks, Pictou Co., September 4, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Neil and Lena Grace (Langille) MacKenzie. Priscilla attended Dawson School and Pictou Academy where she had taken a Maritime Business Course and eventually worked for Greendal Co. Ltd. in Pictou for 3 years. She married Thomas T. Lann in 1948 and moved to Green Hill where Mum raised her family and worked 20 years in the family nursery business. Priscilla was past member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pictou , the Rebekah Lodge, Pictou, and also Mission Circle in Green Hill-Alma United Church. Mums love of knitting and books was well known by her family and close friends. She was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. A best friend and confidante, always there when need to advise and console. Priscilla was predeceased by her husband Thomas T. Lann; a brother Neil MacKenzie; 2 sons, Peter W. Lann and Calvin Fraser Lann. She is survived by a daughter Pamela Ferguson (Ralph), Merigomish; son Thomas Lann (Mary Jane MacKenzie); son and long-time care giver Christopher Lann, Green Hill; daughter -in-law Ruth Lann, Churchville; brother Douglas MacKenzie (Hilda) and sister Priscilla MacKenzie, Pictou; many special grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or funeral service. It was Mum's expressed wish that her remains be cremated and that there be a private family memorial service at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date. There will be a reception a the Alma Fire Hall for family and friends, Saturday November 15 from 2-4 p.m. Donations may be made in memory of our dear mother to Alma Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements intrusted to Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Knowing the care Mum received over the years of her illness is a great comfort to the family; and the girls at the New Glasgow Hospital and Blood Clinic, and you know who you are - Thank you.
