  • Obituary: ANGEVINE, Cyril Brent - 64, Oxford, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully in All Saints Hospital, Springhill, on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, with his family by his side. Born in Oxford, he was a son of the late Alvin and Mary Ethel (Barnes) Angevine. As young man, he was employed with his father in the lumbering industry. Following this he was employed with Thompson Electric in Oxford for over 30 years until the close of the store. He also was a part-time car salesman for Amherst Chrysler in Amherst. He then was employed with Bluenose Transit in Oxford as a shop foreman and chartered bus driver until the time of his retirement in 1993. He was also self-employed as an autobody repairman. He was a member of Oxford Volunteer Fire Department for 24 years and served as Fire Chief from 1981 until 1985. At the time of his passing he was a full honorary member of the fire department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a lover of the outdoors. He was a former member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge No. 26 Oxford. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Arlene J. Allen; children, Orland Brent Angevine, Collingwood, Cumberland Co.; Angela Marie Griffin (Michael), Oxford; Cheryl Ann Rushton (Darren), Wentworth; Todd Alvin Angevine (Carole Bruce), Halifax; grandchildren, Elyse Griffin, Travis Griffin, Justine Griffin, Jordan Rushton, Taylor Rushton, Dani Bruce, Haley Angevine; sisters, Dorothy Gallagher, Sudbury, Ont.; Kathleen Parks, Eganville, Ont.; Donna Johnson, Malagash; brother, Gary Angevine, Kolbec, Cumberland Co.; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister and brother in infancy. Visitation will be this evening and Saturday afternoon and evening in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, with the funeral service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, in Oxford Baptist Church, with Rev. Connie Stewart officiating. Interment will take place in Oxford Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to Lung Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
