She was born on July 28, 1917, in Skogmo, N.D, to Ole and Anna (Skogmo) Bardahl. The Bardahl family moved to Erdahl where Agnes was confirmed at the Erdahl Lutheran Church. She attended rural school and continued her education at the high school in Elbow Lake. From the time she was 16 years old, she worked at the Bardahl Cafe, which was established by her parents in 1934. On Nov. 7, 1942, she married Asbjorn Kjelstrup in Elbow Lake. The couple made their home in Erdahl and took over the Bardahl Cafe in 1951. She continued to operate Aggie's Restaurant until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Erdahl Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VPW. She enjoyed many wonderful gatherings at her home with family and friends. She is survived by her daughters Ann Marie (Donovan) Grover of Brooklyn Center, and Kareen Kjelstrup of Del Mar, California: granddaugters Elizabeth Grover and Rachel Grover, also of Brooklyn Center; sisters Alene "Tena" Palmquist of Melby, Hazel Dix of Chanhassen, and Synnova Alstead of Evansville, and brother Harold (Eileen) Bardahl of Titusville, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Asbjorn, who died in 1968; her parents Ole and Anna Bardahl; one brother, Edwin Bardahl; and a nephew, Richard Alstead.
