J.W. was born October 18, 1928, in De Kalb, Texas, to Buster and Lorene Sanders Cunningham. He was a retired business owner of C&H Pipe Services, Inc.. He was a former member of Big Woods Community Church near De Kalb, Texas and a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Alma F. Cunningham in 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Magill of Kilgore, Texas; a brother, Sanders Cunningham of Gladewater, Texas; a grandson, Gilbert Magill of Kilgore, Texas; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and countless number of friends. Services will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Big Woods Community Church with Rev. Billy Hooker and Rev. Roberto Morales officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors, presented by New Boston American Legion/VFW Honor Guard, at Big Woods Cemetery under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home, De Kalb, Texas. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Big Woods Community Church on FM 44 W, in the Big Woods Community near De Kalb, Texas.
