Born in Bible Hill on December 13, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Elizabeth (O'Brien) Keiver. She was also pre-deceased by brother Elder Glen. Carol graduated from the Aberdeen School of Nursing in 1963 as a registered nurse and worked as a maternity and pediatric nurse at the Colchester Regional Hospital. She then worked for Dr. Wheeler and until her retirement at William's Country Home for Special Care. Carol is survived by her husband Gordon; sons Jeff (Misti), David (Lesley) and daughter Wendi (Kelly) Grant; six grandchildren, Cody, Colton, Katie, Daniel, Alexander and Morgan and sister Marilyn (Bruce) Murray. Carol enjoyed an active life in her younger years and spent many times entertaining family and friends at Shortt's Lake cottage…where the door was always open. She continued to enjoy family get-togethers, social gatherings and always had a good story to share that had everyone chuckling. Carol enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and will be greatly missed by her family, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27th, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm in Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 28th at 11am in Mattatal-Varner Funeral Home, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment at a later date in the Brookfield Westside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Knox United Church or a charity of your choice.
