A retired businessman, he was the son of the late Arthur and Katherine Phinney, of Middleton. He resided for two years in Bridgewater and lived the rest of his life in Middleton. Surviving besides his wife, the former Pearl Morgan, are one son, Gerald, Ottawa; two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. George Graham) Schenectady, N. Y., and Joan (Mrs. George Buckinger) Saskatoon; a brother Victor, Middleton, three sisters, Mrs. Norman Baker and Mrs. Elizabeth Baker, both of Middleton and Mrs. Jack Jeans, North Kingston; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. A daughter, Ruth, died in 1942. Funeral service will be from the Middleton Baptist Church Jan. 16, 2:30 p.m. Interment in Pine Grove cemetery.
