Born in Balfron, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Pugh) Murphy. Kathleen was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and also loved spending time with her canine companion, Cuddles. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at the Falls. Surviving are her children, Carl, Tatamagouche; Roland (Dorothy), New Annan; Cecil, Tatamagouche; Dorothy Langille, Victoria B.C.; Russell (Carolyn), Kindersley, Sask.; Irene (Martin) McNutt, Tatamagouche; Marlene (David) Mattatall, New Annan; Crawford "Pete" (Jamie), Kindersley, Sask; Frances (Edward) Sutherland, River John; Stewart (Jean), Wetaskiwin, AB.; Violet Snook, Tatamagouche; Helen (Kevin) Weatherbie, Tatamagouche; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret "Molly" Ferguson, Hamilton, ON.; Annie Brown, River John; brother, Harold (Patty) Murphy, Stoney Creek, ON.; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Crawford; children, Willie, Edward, Robert, Roy, Hughie, Jean, Marie, Randoll and a daughter in infancy; siblings, Janie "Mae" Ibey, Walter Murphy, Gladys Dawid, Clarence "Edgar", Lester "Sandy", Jean, Isabelle, William, Austin, Clifford, Boyd. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, in Coulter's Funeral Home, 48 Riverside Drive, Tatamagouche (657-3288). The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, at Sedgwick Presbyterian Church, Tatamagouche. Rev. Mary Anne Grant officiating. Burial in the Balfron Cemetery.
