Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 3, at the funeral home. Mr. Fisher passed away on March 1, 2011, at 12:07 AM at his home with his loving family by his side after a lengthy illness. Mark Fisher and his twin brother was born on January 16, 1921, in May Texas to Hosea Bellew Fisher and Maude Eva Wells Fisher. He was raised and attended school at May and later attended Howard Payne University. Mr. Fisher proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps. during the European, African and Italian Theaters as an airplane instrument mechanic. On March 4, 1948, Mark Fisher and the love of his life, Virginia Belle Steel, were joined as one in marriage at the Calvary Baptist Church in Brownwood. Mr. Fisher had worked for the Brown County Water District for a number of years before going to work for 3M, where he retired in 1986. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, farming and ranching, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a lifelong resident of Brown County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Early. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Jennie Belle Fisher of Early; three daughters, Judy Howard and husband Darryl, of Trophy Club Texas, Pam Carr and husband Vernon, of Universal City, Texas and Susan Maxwell and husband Glen, of Cross Plains; five grandchildren, Jennifer Barnes and husband Mike, of Trophy Club Texas, Michelle Schoonover and husband Brad, of Grapevine Texas, Micah McDowell and husband Brandon, of Robert Lee Texas, Todd Smith of Fort Worth and Markus Maxwell of Stephenville, Texas. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Michaela and Lauren Barnes of Trophy Club and Gentry and Jacqueline Smith of Huntington Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hosea and Maude Fisher; three brothers, William Hubert Fisher, Billy Wymon Fisher and his twin brother, Art Fisher; and four sisters Opal Pallette, Ruth Lee, Mary Plummer and Jewel Lee.
