Born in Harmony, Colchester Co., she was a daughter of the late Everett and Lottie (Beaumont) Colburne. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed local card parties. She is survived by her husband, Albert "Toby" Beal; her children, Vaughan Chard (Laurie), Wayne Chard, Leonard Chard, Cheryl Delafranier (Jim), Deborah Beal, Albert Beal, Jr. (Angie), all of Ontario; Vera-Lynn Pearston (Scott), Alberta; Laura Barkhouse (Tony), Kentville; Vangie Beal (Dean), Onslow Mountain; sister, Audrey Therrien (Charles), Ontario; brother, Everett Colburne, Ontario; 25 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her dogs, Fancy and Chance. She was predeceased by brothers, Les and Conway; grandson, Richard Barkhouse. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday [January 26, 2008] in Peniel United Church, Five Islands, Rev. Florence Antle-Brison and Pastor Wayne Yorke officiating. Burial in Lower Five Islands Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation.
