Marie 99, Gulf Shore, joined her Jesus and beloved Murray, June 22, 2009, in East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Born April 27, 1910, in North Wallace, she was a daughter of the late Morrell and Mary Margaret (MacIvor) Langille. Marie was a school teacher and had taught in Pleasant Hills, Colchester Co., Shinimicas Bridge, Rockley, Upper Gulf Shore and Lower Gulf Shore in her early years. She wrote the Gulf Shore News for the Oxford Journal for 50 years; was president of the Truro-Wallace Presbyterial for many years and was a 60 year member of the AMS Society. Surviving are her son, Gordon (Margie) Smith; daughter, Betty Langille; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren ; brother, Ivan. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Murray; brothers, Basil, Otis, Edgar and Ernie; son-in-law, Cecil Langille. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m., in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506). The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, in St. John's Presbyterian Church, Pugwash, Rev. Mary Anne Grant officiating. Burial in Waugh Cemetery, Gulf Shore. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the IWK Hospital or any charity. Our mother was greatly loved by her family and had many friends far and wide.
