  • Obituary: LANGILLE (Robinson), Margaret Isabella - 89. Margaret went home peacefully November 19, 2006, while in the VG Site, QEII, in Halifax, after a long battle with cancer. Mom lived her life to the fullest and she had many things to do and to see finished. She went about doing them in her quiet way for family and friends. She was born January 29, 1917, in Goodwood on the Prospect Road. She also lived on Robinson's Road, Harrietsfield, and moved to Spryfield at a very young age. She was a daughter of the late William and Florence (Marriott) Robinson. She was known to family and friends as "Dottie". During her life, she worked as a domestic in Halifax. She met the "love of her life" Donald Cecile and was married March 25, 1940. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and loved her children. She is survived her daughter, Anna, Spryfield; son, Barry, Halifax, and daughter, Judy Pelrine and her husband Warren, Harrietsfield. Also surviving is her son-in-law, Terry Little, Windsor. She is also survived by her sisters, Bessie Snow, Herring Cove; Nellie (Walford Gates), Kingston, Kings Co.; and June (Donald Strople), Spryfield. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald (1995), and her daughter, Wendy Mae Little (1985); her sisters, Alice Wright and Annie Strople; brothers, Stanford, Fredrick, Walter, Horace Kennedy, Harold, and Roy. Her pride and joy were her beloved grandchildren with whom she spent many happy hours. They are Natasha Cairns and husband Chad, Coldbrook; Jennifer Lee Little, Windsor and Sheet Harbour; Stephen and Kim, Melissa and Amanda Pelrine, Harrietsfield. She especially loved her great-grandson, Jacob Thomas Cairns (11 months). Mom enjoyed the Blue Jays baseball team, music and reading. She loved her flowers, outside and in, picnics, family gatherings and watching people dance and have a good time. She loved to travel to visit family and friends in Canada, the United States and Cuba. Her door was always open in times of happiness or trouble. She was a "Boy Scout" mother who wore her "apron" very proudly for many years. She was a life member of Emmanuel Anglican Church and at an early age was responsible for collecting the "mite" (cent-a-meal) from parishioners and she once got paid five cents to do this, for which she still has the receipt. She taught Sunday school and Catechism classes with The Reverend Denith and helped prepare the young people for Confirmation. She cleaned the church with her parents, brothers and sisters. Later on, she helped with the food bank which she enjoyed very much. She filled in for "Santa Clause" at the IODE hall when school was held there, which was located just below the MacIntosh Bridge on the Herring Cove Road. She never missed a "Parent's Day" visiting the classes of her children. She was there during the good times and bad, always with understanding. Her gentle nature and loving ways will be sadly missed by all of us whose lives she touched. She was a special "Aunt" and "Mom" to many in our community and her outreach was far and wide. She had a cookie tin, which many will remember running in and getting one, and magically, it was never empty. Mom loved to laugh and play with the many children she babysat on Pine Grove Drive and she loved everyone she met. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, November 24, in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield (477-5601). Service to be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, in Emmanuel Anglican Church, Rev. Dianna Brett-Frye officiating, with homily by Rev. Bert Chestnut. Burial will be in Emmanuel Cemetery followed by reception in the "Lower Hall" of Emmanuel Church Hall located behind the church. Memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Anglican Church or the charity of your choice. On-line condolences may be sent to: wfh2005@ns.sympatic o.ca <mailto:wfh2005%40ns.sympatico.ca>
