Obituary: August 29, 1922 - April 29, 2008
CARTER, James Everett - 85, Pugwash, passed away Tuesday, April 29th, 2008, at the East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, and now joins his beloved Laura. Born August 29, 1922, in Pugwash, he was the son of the late James and Clara Christina (Teed) Carter. Jim enjoyed gardening, a passion he shared for many years with his truelove. He was employed for 36 years as an attendant at the Sunset Adult Residential Center, Pugwash, until the time of his retirement. He was a past member of the IOOF Lodge, Pugwash, and a past member of the International Longshoreman's Association. As a young man, Jim loved trout fishing and was happy to recount his many ventures. Jim is survived by his brother, Cecil Carter, Amherst, half-brother Ronald Trenholm (Doris Jackson), Rockley; along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Laura Elizabeth (VanBuskirk); stepfather Robert "Son" Trenholm; sisters, Velma (Pollard), Irene (Lemieux); and brother, Melvin. Jim lived his final years as a resident at the East Cumberland Lodge. He appreciated the dedication of all members of the staff, and was thankful for the special care and love he received. Visitation will take place Thursday, May 1st from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm in Mundle's Funeral Home, Pugwash (243-2506), from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Rev.
