  • Obituary: The death occurred suddenly early Tuesday of Alfred W. Langille of Joggins, formerly of Amherst. He had not been ill prior to his passing. He was 81 years of age, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William C. Langille of Amherst. He was born in River John and had resided in Joggins for the past eight years. Before that he had spent most of his life in Amherst. He was a member of the Army in World War One. He was employed for over twenty years with the late W.A. Fillmore of Amherst. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary MacKay in 1924. Surviving are five daughters: Effie (Mrs. Blair Arsneault) of Brantford, Ont; Lillian (Mrs. Joseph Gould) and Hilda (Mrs. Basil Murphy) both of Toronto; Jessie (Mrs. William O'Heran) of Joggins and Lottie (Mrs. Arthur McDonald) of Amherst; one son Robert of Brantford, Ont, two sisters, Mrs. Herb Patterson of Amherst and Mrs. Stanley Coates of Montreal; also 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The late Mr. Langille is resting at Furlong's Funeral Home from which place the funeral wil be held this Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. Dr. W. J. MacDonald. Interment will be in the family lot at Highland Cemetery
