  • Obituary: (September 10, 1933 - October 22, 2011) Latta, George Willard - 78, Malagash; It is with great sadness the family of George Latta announce his passing on October 22, 2011, at the Halifax Infirmary QE II, Halifax. Born in Pugwash Jct., he was a son of the late Amos and Myrtle (Teed) Latta. George had worked at the Canadian Rock Salt Company in Malagash and Pugwash; was a lobster fisherman, a carpenter and had also worked for the Dept. of Highways. He was most of all a man who loved and was extremely proud of his family. Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Muriel (Langille) Latta; sons, Kody (Shelly), Bridgewater; Shannon (Colleen), Timberlea; Tony (Pauline), Chaulk River, ON.; Morgan (Dawn), Malagash; grandchildren, Alicia, Courtney, Brittany, Melody, Tiffany, Emily, Kaleb, Shaun, Amanda, Kayla, Holly; great-grandson, Keegan; brothers, Raymond (Barbara), Malagash; Calvin (Irene), Pugwash; Weldon, Wallace Bay; sisters, Ola Ross, Malagash; Jean (John) McKenzie, Pugwash; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Parker; brothers, Clarence, Sandy, Gessner, Ross; sister, Louella Roberts. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Coulter's Funeral Home, 48 Riverside Dr., Tatamagouche (657-3288). The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in The Church of God in Christ Mennonite, 2921 Hwy 6, Tatamagouche. Leroy Boese officiating. Burial in the Miner's Cemetery, Malagash. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Lunenburg/Queens Region Special Olympics; The Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation; The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Maritime Region or the Miner's Cemetery.
