Born in Pugwash on September 6th, 1932, he was a son of the late John and Greta (Taylor) White. Ron was a hard working man all his life. He was a spring lobster fisherman for over fifty years but worked at a variety of jobs the rest of the time, namely for Payson Dobson, Bragg Lumber, Oxford Frozen Foods, Pugwash Salt Mine and with the winter work program with the Dept. of Transportation for over twenty years. Ron was confirmed in St. George's Anglican Church, Pugwash at the age of eleven. He was warden for several terms and greeter and rang the bell until failing health. Ron is survived by his wife of over sixty years, the former Shirley Langille; daughter, Ronalda (Barry) Smith, Pugwash; son, Curtis (Cheryl), Port Howe; grandchildren, Charlene Butler (Coady Perry), Saint John; Travis White, Victoria, BC; Taylor White, Truro; Tanner (Rae) Smith, Pugwash; great grandchildren, Aidan and Kelsey, Saint John; Blayze Smith, Pugwash; siblings, Cora (Donnie) Reid, Pugwash; Ella (Howard) Ferdinand, West Pugwash; Jackie (Doug) Hulan; Dartmouth; Robert (Doreen) White, Toronto; Arnold (Kaye) White; Pugwash Junctiom; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by brother, Roy; sisters, Myra MacKenzie-Bonnyman; Margaret Ferdinand; Verna Bergman. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 12, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m., in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (902-243-2506). A funeral service will be Monday, February 13, at 2 pm in St. George's Anglican Church, 44 Russell St., Pugwash.
