  • Obituary: Earl James Lockhart (September 30, 1927 - June 15, 2013) Lockhart, Earl James – 85, Westchester Station, Cumberland County, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche. Born in Five Islands, he was a son of the late Basil and Ada (Lewis) Lockhart. Earl had worked for Payson Dobson for 55 years and was a 25 year veteran of the Westchester Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the United Church in Victoria. Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Ella (Langille)Lockhart; son, Winston "Jake" (Susan) Lockhart, Truro; grandchildren, Matthew (Tanya) Lockhart, Stewiacke; Rhonda (Jeff) Darragh, Wentworth; Jennifer (Nathan) Adams, Moncton; Allison Lewis (Craig Barton), Tatamagouche; Jonathan Lockhart and Melissa Lockhart, both of Guelph, Ont; great-grandchildren, James, Lyta, Rhina, Josh, Jessica, Olivia, Sophia, Emma, Tyson, Dawson and Jayden; sister, Pearl Hoeg, Amherst. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sons, James in infancy and Perry Lockhart; grandson, James; great-granddaughter, Emily; brother, Sidney; daughter-in-law, Joyce; brother-in-law, Aubrey. Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm Tuesday, June 18, at MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main St., Oxford (447-2930), from where the funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, June 19. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River. Donations in memory may be made to the Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche or the Westchester Volunteer Fire Department.
