  • Obituary: LUNENBURG- Mary K. "Kitty" (McKevitt) Langille, 76, of Cove Rd., died Tuesday, April 1, in the Health Alliance Leominster Hospital. She was born in Melrose, on May 9, 1931, a daughter of the late George and Rebecca (Wilson) McKevitt and has lived on Lunenburg since 1955. She was a graduate of Malden High School. Mrs. Langille was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in U.S. Air Force. In 1970 she joined the U.S. Army reserves and served with them for over 20 years. Kitty worked several years at Hanscom Field in the procurement division. She was a member of the Lunenburg American Legion Post 283, she also served as a past Worcester County Commander and 2 term past District 1 Commander. She was a department advisor for the Sons of the American Legion and served on the Detachment Advisory. She was the area representative for Boys and Girls State. Kitty was a member of the United Parish of Lunenburg and volunteered as a Sunday school teacher for several years. She was a member of the Community Council. Her husband Leon W. Langille died in 2007. She leaves a son, Kevin L. Comer of Lunenburg two daughters, Norma J. Comer of Farmers Branch, TX and Rebecca J. Lincoln and her husband, Donald of Greenville, NH; three grandchildren, Jessica L. Pride and her husband Randy, Nathan M. Lincoln and Matthew A. Comer; a great-grandson, Jonas T. Pride; two step-daughters, Joanne Fraser and her husband, Jean "John" of Candia, NH, and Janice Arsenault and her husband Omer of Gardner, MA; two step-sons, Charles Langille and his wife Linda of New Ipswich, NH and Paul Langille and his wife Teresa of Virginia Beach, VA; twelve step-grandchildren, 17 step great-grandchildren, and several nephews nieces and cousins. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a son, Aaron R. Comer who died in 1968. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7, at 11:00 a.m. in the United Parish on Main St. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 6, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts Veterans Inc., Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
