  • Obituary: Milford has been called to lose one of its oldest residents in the person of Terrence Carroll who passed quietly away November 30th aged 78 years and three months. Mr. Carroll was the youngest of the family; he was born in Halifax, but lived all his life on the farm in Milford. He was thrice married. His last (3rd) wife survived him, also 14 children and 20 grand children and one brother, Matthew. Mr. Carroll will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a man of sterling quality, honest and upright in all his dealings, liberal in his views, a good Roman Catholic, a kind and indulgent Husband and Father and a good neighbor wherever help was needed. He was out driving in the morning and after he came home not feeling well he laid down to rest; at 1:30 he told his wife he would sit up a while and while she was getting him a chair he dropped back dead. The family have the heart felt sympathy of all their neighbors. The deceased was laid to rest in the St. Bernards cemetery at Enfield, where his two wives and several children are buried. Rev. Father Young conducted the Funeral service, Mr John Logan's consideration for all their wishes, while performing the duties of undertaker, were appreciated by all the relatives. The pall bearers were Duncan McDonald, Edward Isenor and William Andrews.
