Frank was educated in Truro beginning at the Truro Elementary School, then onto Truro Junior High, Colchester County Academy (CCA), N.S. Normal College, Mt. Allison University, Sackville, N.S. and finally at Dalhousie University with a Library Science Degree. His first teaching assignment was at the Salmon River Elementary in 1956. Other teaching assignments included; Tatamagouche Rural High School, Westville High School, Valleyfield, Que., and retiring from Truro Junior High School. Frank was very much involved in the various activities of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union and held different positions in the NSTU. Many happy times were spent at his summer home in Marshville, Pictou Co. He took many side journeys along with his mother to various locations in PEI and New Brunswick. He was a supporter of the High School Musicals in Truro and could be found at the DAL AC and Truro Libraries daily and was often seen driving around town in his K-Cars. Frank enjoyed chatting with people of various careers and attending many social events in Truro, Marshville, Pictou, Toronto, Montreal and USA. Beyond laughter, Frank stood as a person of faith and concern for others. He is survived by many friends in the Truro area and beyond and was predeceased by his mother, Frances Helen Martel.
