  • Obituary: Marilyn Reynolds Kodatt Rountree, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 18, 2019. She was born on October 16, 1931, the daughter of the late Lexton Reynolds and Frances Felos Knowles. A native and life-long resident of Jacksonville, she graduated in 1949 from Andrew Jackson High School. Until her health declined, she was an active member at North Jacksonville Baptist Church and was a long-time member of the Worship Choir. Marilyn retired from NJBC serving as Secretary for 12 years. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, 2 spouses: James Kodatt and retired JFRD Chief L.V. "Bucky" Rountree and her son, Jimmy Kodatt. Surviving family include 3 children: Bruce Kodatt, Leslie (Terry) Starling and Jeff (Debbie) Rountree; 10 grandchildren: Matt (Alina) Kodatt, Josh (Karen) Starling, Jon (Susan) Kodatt, Kelly (Ande) Johnson, Pete (Katherine) Starling, Ben (Megan) Kodatt, Zach Rountree, Adam Rountree, Seth Rountree and Allyson Rountree, 20 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marlene Kodatt and a host of church family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 N. Main Street, with Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr. and Rev. Chris A. Coram, officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
