Born in New Albany on February 15, 1911, she was the daughter of the late F. Clayton and J. Frederica (Oswald) Zwicker. An avid gardener, she and her husband, volunteered at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Albany. The cemetery was awarded a provincial Rural Beautification prize as a result of their leadership. She grew beautiful rhododendrons and leaves behind a legacy of beauty in her former flower gardens. She was noted for her handcrafted Log Cabin quilts and will be remembered as a loving and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are daughters, Shirley Burrell, Marilyn (Stan) Brown and Gini Proulx, all of Deep Brook; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews in British Columbia and the United States. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 71 years, Frank; daughter, Linda McGinley; sisters, Dorothy Rathbun and Lillian Aceto (Rhode Island); brothers, G. Martin, Allen and Charles, and grandsons, infant Stephen and David Brown. Visiting 2-4 p.m. Saturday and funeral service 4 p.m. Sunday, both in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Albany. Donations to Pine Grove Cemetery, New Albany or a charity of choice.
