Born in Westville, December 10, 1917, he was a son of the late Ruben and Emily (Pealey) Deagle, Westville. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He was a coal miner and worked in various mines in Pictou County. He was an honourary member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 35, Westville. Babe is survived by a son, Lawrence, Thompson, Man.; daughter, Carol (Gordon) Stewart, Westville; grandsons, Timothy and Jason Stewart; sisters, Bella Dunn, Westville; Doris Fanning and Teresa Lemon, Vancouver; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son in infancy; sisters, Bertha Cyr, Dorothy Dorie, Pearl Cameron, Clara Mae Wellings, Vera Harvey; brothers, Pat, Ned and Andy Deagle. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Church of The Holy Name, Westville, Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Westville. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
