OBITUARY: H. Roy Phinney
Amherst - H. Roy Phinney, 82, of 13 Costin Drive, Amherst, died Thursday at home. He was born in Parrsboro. He was an active member of Cross Roads Gospel Temple Church. He played the accordion in church and during community functions. He is survived by one daughter, Lucy (Mrs. Eldon Brigley), Rothesay, N.B.; three sons, Reg, Oshawa, Ont.; Herbert and Gordon, both of Rothesay, N.B.; a step-daughter, Ruth (Mrs. C.B. Hill), Power River, B.C.; astep-son, Reg Smith, Vancouver; 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Hilda Edgett and his second wife, the former Nina (Ripley) Smith. The body is in Furlong's Funeral Home,Amherst. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. In Cross Roads Gospel Temple Church, Amherst, Rev. George Fry officiating. Burial will be in
Advocate Cemetery in the spring.
