Born in Fox River, he was the son of the late Carl and Martha (Hatfield) Shaw. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was employed with Tidewater Construction Co. for 23 years and the Department of Lands and Forests for 4 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Ritta Pettis; three sons, Douglas, Toronto; Ronald, Parrsboro; Bruce, at home; a sister, Frances (Mrs. Bernard Bennett), Fox River; a half sister, Barbara (Mrs. George Bishop), Ottawa; two half brothers, Keith Graham, Halifax; Donald Graham, Toronto; two step sisters, Ethel (Mrs, Hamilton Gau), Reading, Mass.; Jessie (Mrs. Clayton Colpitts), Fox River; two step brothers, Harold Graham, London, Ont.; George Graham, Thunder Bay. The body is at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Fox River, Rev. Margaret Young officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
