Obituary: PETTIS, Weston Leroy - 72, Halifax, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2003, in
the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Ward's Brook, Cumberland Co., he was a
son of the late Nelson and Lavenia (Tibbetts) Pettis. Wes was a graduate from
Normal College in Truro. He retired from the Federal Department of Manpower and
Immigration after 30 years service. He was an elder and a member of the Board of
Management at Calvin Presbyterian Church. He was an avid square dancer and
received a 30 year pin from the Scotia Dancers. Wes will be remembered as a
devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by son, Greg
(Debby), Brian (Kim), all of Bedford; daughters, Brenda (Rick) Munro, Bedford;
Heather (Bill) McDonald, Fall River; grandchildren, Chris, Corinne, Joffre,
Lauren, Brendan, Melissa, Kari, Rachael, Hannah, and Regan; sister, Lyda
Barteaux, Fox River; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife,
the former Anita Willetts; brothers, Vincent, Stanley, and Roland. The family
will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home,
2666 Windsor St. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Calvin
Presbyterian Church, Ashburn Avenue, Rev. Sidney MacDonald officiating. Memorial
donations to Calvin Presbyterian Church Building Fund or any charity of choice
would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to acknowledge Dad's special
