He later worked for Parrsboro Metal Fabricators until his retirement. He loved antique cars and his hometown, Parrsboro. He is survived by his former wife, Luella (Richardson) Taylor, Parrsboro; daughters, Donna Taylor (Carl Margeson), Amherst; Margaret Dillman (Peter), Lantz; Shelley Salter (James), Warsaw, Poland; Susan Taylor, Halifax; Marie Taylor, Parrsboro; brothers, Allan (Shane), Parrsboro; Gary Taylor, Parrsboro; grandchildren, Nicole Richardson, James and Christopher Salter, Justin Dillman; great grandchildren, Caden and Alina; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tara; sisters, Jean; Beatrice; brothers, Roland, Robert, Verland, Gerald, Fred, Ralph, Lawrence. Visitation 6-8 p.m. today [Wednesday, May 14, 2014] at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday [May 15, 2014], Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial in St. George's Anglican Cemetery, Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
