Morse, widow of T. H. Morse, occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Bishop, Somerset, Friday morning, August 30th at the age of 83 years. Mrs. Morse, who was the daughter of the late Deacon John and Olivia Kinsman Rand of Somerset, was born in 1852, and before her marriage in 1879, taught for some years in the public schools. She is survived by four sons, Ralph L. and Kenneth R. of Somerset; T. Bernard, Paxton, Mass.; Dr. Harry D., Winnipeg; and two daughters, Miss Lucy and Mrs. Paul Bishop of Somerset; one step-son, Irving H., of Couer d'Alene, Idaho; and one brother, Arthur W. Rand of Los Angeles, California. Her eldest son, Frank H., Boston, predeceased her, dying July 19th, 1935. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Sept. 1st, with a very large attendance. Various departments of the Provincial and Municipal governments were represented. Rev. D. J. MacPherson, pastor of the Berwick Baptist Church, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. David Price. Mrs. Evelyn Spidell Eaton, of Kentville, sang "Crossing the Bar", very sympathetically, and the choir of the Berwick Baptist Church was in attendance.
