Born in Torbrook to Roy and Gladys Phinney, she moved at an early age to Nictaux, Annapolis County where she resided until her marriage to husband Jim. After living in Windsor, Ont. for a short period of time, she and Jim returned to Nictaux to live and raise a family. Jean worked at the Eden golf course for several years helping Jim in the pro shop. In 1965, the family moved to Liverpool, NS where she and Jim ran the pro shop at White Point until 1989. She is survived by sons Richard (Rebecca) of Pugwash and Ed (Karen) of Fall River. Grandchildren Janet, Robert, Christine and Jillian. Sisters Audrey Millet of Windsor, NS, Sheila Thompson of Middleton, NS. Brothers Richard of Calgary, AB., and Ian of Windsor, NS. Several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband Jim, sister Kay Marshall and brothers Vernon and Beldon. Halifax Herald Halifax,NS October 12, 2012
