Obituary: Bridgewater Bulletin Bridgewater,NS Harold A. Manning passed away at his home in Bridgewater on Friday evening, May 26, 1978. Born in Bridgewater, July 10, 1890, he was a son of the late Johnson and Lois (Sanderson) Manning. He was owner of Manning Furniture Company Limited for many years; a former member of town council; was Treasurer and Secretary of Baptist Sunday School for over thirty years; was a member of Bridgewater Curling Club; and a member of Masonic Lodge in Bridgewater, and was presented with a 50 year jewel in 1966. Ten years later he received his 60 year bar. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are three nephews, Walter Manning, Liverpool; Frederick Manning, New York; Albert Hines, Florida; two nieces, Mrs. Gordon Patterson and Mrs. Barry Gibbon, both of Winnipeg. In 1963 he was predeceased by his wife, the former Etta Fowler Tooker of Yarmouth. A Masonic service was held at Sweeny's Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. Funeral service was held on Monday at 2 p.m. from Sweeny's Funeral Home with Rev. J.M. Scott officiating. Pallbearers were Lloyde Campbell, Cyril McInnis, Ian Campbell, and Ralph Montgomery.
