  • Obituary: May 13, 1916 - February 21, 2008 Teed, Verna Jean - 91, Wallace, Cumb., Co., passed away February 21, at Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche. Born at Wallace River, she was a daughter of the late Robert M. and Mary Ellen (O'Brien) Peers. Verna had worked as a cook at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche from 1959-1984. She was a member of the UCW; the Wallace and Area Museum, and a member of the former Purity Rebekah Lodge, Malagash. Verna enjoyed reading (especially westerns) and playing cards. Surviving are her sons, Arnold (Laverne) Teed, Wallace; Sherman (Sharon) Teed, Wentworth; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Russell; sisters, Eva Murray and Florence Peers; brothers, Clarence and Ivan Peers. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 24, in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506). Rev. Meggin King officiating. Burial at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River. Donations in memory may be made to the Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche or The Salvation Army.
