  • Obituary: CHAPMAN '96 Daniel J. Maillett, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Dan was born in Presque Isle, the son of James and Bernadette (Martin) Maillett, Sr. Dan had been retired for a year and a half, and enjoyed daily trips to the woods with his dog Kallie by his side. He loved hunting and fishing, and cooking dinner every night for his wife Lynn. Dan was a member of the West Chapman Advent Christian Church, and also served in the Army and was deployed to Korea. Dan is survived by his wife, Lynn (Roope) Maillett of Chapman, his children, Jason Maillett and his children Sarah and Elliot of Mars Hill, Jessica and her husband Brent Grass, and their children Bryant and Jaxon of Blaine, and adopted son Shawn Burby of Richmond. He will also be remembered by his brothers, James and his wife Jan Maillett of Bangor, Patrick and his wife Louise Maillett and their children and their spouses, Amos and Maria Maillett, Joshua and Liz Maillett, Caleb and Lauren Maillett all of Fyreburg, and Joseph Maillett and his partner Laurie Boulier of Presque Isle, his brother in law, Ronald and his wife Julie Roope of Mapleton and Florida, and his sister in law, Rebecca Dean of Presque Isle. He will also be missed by his dog Kallie. Dan was predeceased by both of his parents, James and Bernadette (Martin) Maillett, Sr. Friends and family may call on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the West Chapman Advent Christian Church, from 1-2pm, where a Memorial Service will be held at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Dan's memory may be made to the West Chapman Advent Christian Church Building Fund, 3466 W Chapman Rd, Mapleton, ME 04757.
