  • Obituary: Eleanor "Gail" Mayne-Fisher, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Gail grew up in Westchester Station, and later raised her family in Belmont. Always a career woman, she worked as a bookkeeper, florist, business owner and currently was employed at Fundy Textile as account manager. Gail loved gardening, cooking, shopping, and her many rescue pets. She also loved travelling, especially her trips down South. Gail was devoted to her family and friends. She showered everyone with kindness and generosity, and she was adored by everyone. Gail is survived by her mother, Audrey Angevine; daughters, Judi Fisher (Jerry), and Anita Fisher; son, Danny (Alicia) Fisher; granddaughter, Hayley (Ted) Misztela; grandson, Quinn Nichols; sister, Jeanne (John) Boertjes; brothers, Robert (Debbie) Angevine, Richard (Shelly) Angevine; sister-in-law, Sylvia Barnhill; Uncle Bun (Jean) Betts; all her loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Duane Hines, Richard Arnold. She was predeceased by her father, Elmer Angevine; husband, Ken Oliver; former husband, John Fisher. Her family wishes to thank everyone at the Dartmouth General Hospital who cared for Gail during her sudden illness, and for all who prayed and loved her through. No visitation by request. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, from where funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, August 25, Pastor Andrea Baas officiating, with interment to follow in the Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Gail supported many charities, three she was most involved in are Elder Dog, Special Olympics, Perform A Random Act of Kindness. If so desired a donation in Gail's memory would be fitting.
