  • Obituary: Mildred Jean Mayhue of Truro, NS passed away peacefully on April 13, 2013 at the age of 82 with her family at her side. Born in Truro in 1930 she was the daughter of the late George and Zelda McNutt. Mom was a dedicated member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church for many years where she ministered, and was ministered to, by many friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a great love of music and especially enjoyed playing the piano at church and with friends and family. She was married to Gordon (Ernie) Mayhue for 22 years where they enjoyed each other's company, traveling, sightseeing and loving their family. Mildred is survived by her sister, Irma Bird, Truro, NS; brothers, Earl (Mary Ellen) McNutt, Stouffville, Ont., Guy (Estelle) McNutt, North River, NS, Eric NcNutt, Bible Hill, NS; daughter, Marilyn (Lee) Hutt, Valley NS, son, Glenn (Lyndy) Taylor, Valley, NS; step children, Larry (Susan) Mayhue, Whitby, Ont. , Sharon (Jonathan) Moore, Bradford, Ont., Brenda Gravelle, Cleveland, OH; grandchildren: Sherri Nicholson, Melissa Selkirk, Lindsay Shular, Brett Taylor, Chase Taylor, Kirby Taylor, Mandy Taylor, Allison Taylor, Regan Taylor, Vanessa Lang, Thomas Lang, Valerie Knuff, Vicki Fields, Violet Lang, Veronica Lang, Velvet Lang. Jennifer Goodwin, Christopher Mayhue, Amy Gravelle, Julie Gravelle and ten great grandchildren. Mom will be greatly missed. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Keith Taylor. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 and funeral service on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. both in the at Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro with Rev. Earl McNutt and Rev Burton Hooper officiating. Interment will follow in Watson's Cemetery, Salmon River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada Missions Fund or a charity of your choice. .
