It is with sad hearts and loving memories the family announces Laurie passed away peacefully Monday, April 18, 2022, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, May 23, 1933, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Isabell (Aylward) Horsnell. Laurie was raised in Dempsey Corner where he was known for his storytelling abilities, strong work ethic, inventor of many gadgets, builder, his love of animals and farm life. He was a proud Liberal his entire life. He was an active commissioner on the Aylesford Fire Commission since 1984. Laurie is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce (Smith) Horsnell; his children, Bill (Rose) Horsnell, Marilyn Grabowski, Debby (Terry) Rousseau, Mike (Alice) Horsnell, and Sandy (Kim) Horsnell. He was a proud and loving Grampy to 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Pat Horsnell. Besides his parents, Laurie was predeceased by siblings, Mary Louise (Jim) Rippey, Eric (Dorothy) Horsnell and Clyde Horsnell. A celebration of Laurie's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday April 24th in Aylesford Fire Hall.
