Born in Advocate Harbour, he was the son of the late Arthur and Damaris Joyce. Calvin and his wife enjoyed travelling around to the Bluegrass Festivals in their motorhome. He was an outdoors man liked hunting and enjoyed time spent at the cottage in Advocate Harbour. He cherished his two dogs, Rosie and Gracie. Calvin was a carpenter by trade and worked for many years throughout Nova Scotia. He enjoyed cars especially his treasured 1975 Buick. He is survived by his wife, Muriel Rose Canfield Joyce; sons, James "Jim" Joyce (Vanda), Stewiacke, Doug Joyce (Sandra), Brookfield; daughters, Sherry Joyce and Carolann Joyce, both of Truro; grandchildren, Chad and Tyler Fleck, Lisa and Brandy Joyce; stepchildren, Gloria (Allen) Turner, Brookfield; Steve (Michelle) Canfield, Sackville, Wanda Canfield (Stephen), Halifax, Mark Canfield, Truro; step grandchildren, Cory Canfield, Kelsey Canfield, Jackie Canfield and Blake Canfield; former wife, Maxine; brother in law, Ken (Patti) Langille; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Calvin was predeceased by brother, Claude and second wife, Mae Joyce. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, February 3 from 2-4pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Family flowers only.
