  • Obituary: George Albert Alcock, 85, of Stuart, died May 17, 2007, at Treasure Coast Hospices in Stuart. He was born in Boston, and was a resident of Stuart for 14 years, coming from Miami. He was a Free Mason of the Red Mountain Lodge No. 68, F & A.M. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Carolyn (Reed) Alcock; two daughters, Carolyn A. (Alcock) Woodbury of South Dennis, Mass., and daughter, Daphne A. (Alcock) Frentress, of Round Mountain, Nev.; three sisters, Helen Reed of Westerly, R.I., Patricia Burnham of Westboro, Mass. and Shirley Beaman of Westboro, Mass.; two brothers, Kenneth Alcock of Center Sandwich, N.H. and Paul Alcock of Natick, Mass. two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Isabel (Manning) Alcock; a brother, Warren Alcock; and sister Barbara Donovan. Memorial donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.
