  • Obituary: BURBIDGE, Ethel Eugenia ~ Age 98, of Brickton, Annapolis Co, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre, Middleton. Born on January 8, 1923, in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Harry R. and Beatrice M. (Phinney) Burbidge. Ethel was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton, where she sang in the choir and was active in the A.C.W. She was a life member of the Canadian Bible Society. Ethel spent her life working on the family farm which included beekeeping and was well known for the gladiolus she grew. She was an avid knitter who donated items to Seafarers charity and local school children. Surviving are sisters, Florence (late Art) Blanchard, Chester Basin; Jean (late Bill) Wells, Hamilton, ON; numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Mary Burbidge, Myrtle (Roy) Zwicker; brother, Harry "Bill" (Isobel) Burbidge. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., Monday, August 30, in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 45 Main Street, Middleton. Rev. Canon Lynn Uzans officiating, with interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Due to pandemic gathering restrictions, there will be limited seating, masking, social distancing, and hand sanitizing are required.
