  • Obituary: HALIFAX HERALD '96 25 June 2004 SHAW, David H. - 70, Durham Road, formerly of Braeshore, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Gerald Karl Shaw and Vera V. (Zinck) Shaw MacDonald. David served in the Canadian Armed Forces in Germany, the Korean War and as a peacekeeper. Upon leaving the forces David worked in the gas industry until his retirement. He was a long-time mason and rotarian. He loved hunting, fishing and his cats, Buttons and Tricky. He is survived by a son, Leonard (Jackie), Whitehorse; sisters, Marge (Ken) Baillie, Toronto; Norma Patriquin, River John; brothers, Rollie (Judy) MacDonald, Pictou; Leonard (Judy) MacDonald, Bay View and Greg (Barb) MacDonald, Central Cariboo; grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, and Kristine; nieces and nephews; special friend, Edna Clarke, Pictou. He was predeceased by his wife, Lottie Alberts. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. Saturday until time of funeral service at 3 p.m. in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, with Rev. Frances Boutilier officiating. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Seaview Cemetery
