Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Bantford and Margaret "Peggy" (Holmes) Crowe. Early on Billy worked as a plasterer with the family business then he was employed at Lafarge Canada where he retired after over 30 years. In his younger years he loved fishing and hunting, always enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time at the camp. You could always find Billy listening to country music and playing his guitar. A caring man, he loved being at home spending time with his family and keeping in touch with friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janice; daughter Michelle (Jason) Gillis, Brookfield; son, Jeffrey (Denise), Maitland; grandchildren, Matthew and Emily, Tyler, Ryley and Josie; sisters, Carron (Nelson) Miller, Phyllis (Del) Bard; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Carol Daly. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 17 at 2 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. Private family interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
