Born in Weston, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Gordon and Cora (Palmer) Sanford. After returning home from Ontario, he was employed with Berwick Bakeries Ltd., Ronn Baltzer Equipment Ltd., Aylesford and later the Department of Highways, retiring in 1985. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Thomas Gates; son, Michael Ervin, Keswick, Ont.; daughter, Maureen Elizabeth (Mrs. Stephen Sanford), Berwick; stepson, Allen Gates, Aylesford; brother, Robert, Berwick; sister, Dorothy Bezanson, Bridgetown; six grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Darrell Frederick; daughter, Carol Boyce. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service 2 p.m. Wednesday in H.C. Lind- say Memorial Chapel, Berwick, Rev. Clyde Lowe officiating. Burial in Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society or any charity.
