  • Obituary: LAWRENCE MACKAY: Truro - The death of Lawrence MacKAY occurred very suddenly in his 66 year at his home in Debert. A lumberman for many years he resided in Truro and Riversdale. The last five years he had been living in Debert where he was employed with the Dept. of National Defence. In his passing the United Church of Canada lost an ardent worker. He was an elder for 28 years, first in the Presbyterian Church and later in the United Church. The deceased was a son of the late George H. and Jane Dean MacKAY. Following the death of his father he spent the early part of his life with Deacon and Mrs. John MacLEAN, Lower Mount Thom. Besides his wife, Ella MAXWELL, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William D. MAXWELL, Lower Mount Thom., he is survived by nine children; Mrs. Susan KIRKPATRICK, Halifax; Mrs. Elliott STUNMAN, Boston, Mass.; Mrs. Seymour CAMERON, West River Station; Mrs. Perce CARTER, Riversdale; Mrs. John E. DELANEY, New GLASGOW; Miss Jean, Halifax; Miss Helen, Debert; Lawrence, RCAF, Gander, NFLD; Howard, R.C.A.; and one sister, Mrs. Milton MUNRO, Riverside. He was predeceased by three brothers, one son and one daughter. Interment was in Robie St. Cemetery.
