Robbins, 92, artist, resident of Harwich for 40 years, and founding member of the Guild of Harwich artists, will be laid to rest at 1 p.m., Feb. 8, 2010, with a funeral at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, in South Dennis. He will be interred at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.Mr. Robbins was a pilot in World War II and was headed for Japan when the war ended.He will be buried next to his wife of 53 years, Ann Ledbury Robbins, who died in 1994. He leaves a son, Russell G. Robbins of Salem; a daughter, Jean Ann McLaughlin of Harwich; two grandsons, Blake Robbins of Valencia, Calif., and Wade Robbins of New Orleans; two granddaughters, Kira Richardson of Barrington, R.I., and Erin McLaughlin of Harwich; and six great-grandchildren.Prior to moving to the Cape in 1969, he was a resident of Palmer.
