Notes Obituary: It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Florence Fisher, 87 years, of Springhill, in Gables Lodge on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Paul F. and Laura A. (Fraser) Brenton. Joan graduated as a nurse from Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing in 1954. She was very proud of her career as a Nurse in Springhill Hospital. She loved spending time with her family and friends at the cottage at Heather's Beach. She will be dearly missed by daughter, Sandra (Blair) Wood, Oxford; and granddaughters, Rachael and Lydia. She was predeceased by her husband, Roderick L. Fisher. Joan's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at both Centennial Villa and Gables Lodge for their exceptional care and love. As per Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, (902 597 2361). There will be no visitation or service.
