Notes Obituary: FISHER - Roderick 'Rod' L. aged 67 years of Main Street, Springhill, passed away Tuesday April 13, 2004 in The QE II Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax, N. S. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the Late Frederick L. and Connie (Goodwin) Fisher. He was owner/operator of Fisher Clothing; R & D Enterprises and Fisher Honda retiring in 1991; he served on the Board of Directors of the Anne Murray Centre and Cumberland Business Development Corp; Commodore of the Pugwash Yacht Club, adherent to St. Andrews Wesley United Church Springhill and involved in several volunteer organizations. He enjoyed boating, his cottage, the outdoors, friends and especially his family. He is survived by his wife the former Joan F. Brenton; daughter Sandra (Blair) Wood of Oxford, grandchildren, Rachael and Lydia; brother Gary (Dorothy) Fisher of Riverview, N. B.; sister in law Edith Fisher of Amherst; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Frederick Fisher Jr. Visitation will be held 1 - 4 PM on Friday, April 16, 2004 followed immediately at 4:00 PM by the Funeral Service with the Reverend Danny Compton officiating both held in A. H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Burial in Rodney Cemetery, at a later date. Donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
