  • Obituary: FOXBORO \emdash Caroline Farley Coombs, 64, died Wednesday at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was the widow of Byron W. Coombs. Born June 30, 1935, in Boston, daughter of Lawrence E. Peck of Foxboro and the late Caroline (Farley) Peck, she was a Sharon native and 1953 graduate of Sharon High School, but had been a longtime Foxboro resident. She had attended Tufts University in Boston and was a 1957 graduate of Gordon College in Wenham. Mrs. Coombs was a teacher in the Gloucester and Attleboro school systems, retiring from Attleboro schools in 1995. She was active in Foxboro Senior Citizens and was a member of the M.B.C. Gold Club. She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the board of trustees of Elm Park in Cheshire, Conn., and the Alpha Beta chapter of Delta Cappa Gamma. In addition to her father, survivors include two brothers, Robert Peck of Colrain and Edward Peck of Sharon, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Evangelical Baptist Church of Sharon. Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro. Arrangements are by Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, Foxboro.
