(Smith) Lessard, 82, of Gorham NH and formerly of Berlin NH, passed away on Jan. 23, 2008, at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in North Conway NH on March 24, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Ella (Smith) Smith, and came to Berlin in 1952. She was a graduate of Kennett High School with the class of 1942. Lorena was a member of the United Methodist Church in Berlin and a former member of the Winthrop Grange. She had been employed by the Granite State Rubber Company for many years. Members of the family include her daughters Diana Maurice of East Derry NH, June Warner of Plano TX, Carolene Warner of Walnut Creek CA, Karen Triest of Orinda CA, and Lynne Lessard of Gorham; her one and only son Carl Lessard of Enfield CT; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Lena Lyman of Conway NH and Lois Melrose of Boca Raton FL; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph J. Lessard in 2004. There will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Mt. Hayes Cemetery in Gorham at a later date.
