  • Obituary: PRESQUE ISLE - Omar E. Braley, 90, passed away Thursday evening, July 5, 2012, at Maine Veterans Home, Caribou. He was born May 10, 1922, in Mapleton, son of Herbert W. and Katherine L. (Locke) Braley. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Omar was a potato farmer for many years and then he worked for Tater Meal, Presque Isle, for 12 years. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Landry and her husband, William; and his former wife, Joyce Thomas, all of Presque Isle; a grandson, Jeaudi W. Landry; a great-grandson, Stephen Landry; several nieces and nephews; and a stepson, Danny Caron of Presque Isle. He was predeceased by his second wife, Pauline (Caron) Braley; a son, Edward; a grandson, Jessie Landry; and five brothers, Elwood, Harry, Earlin, Roland and Floyd Braley. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton. (Bangor Daily News posted 7/6/2012)
